You want recoil try my Mod 29 S&W with 240gr bullets or a G20. The 30 serves as a duty gun, carry gun and a field/woods gun. The LCP has its place, as a second gun or when a small, light gun is all you can carry. But the 30 gets carried almost continuously. The 9mm is not a bad cartridge. It offers lots of capacity and is cheap to shoot.I carry both, the G 38 will have a grip the same width as a G 19. The 8 round mag for the G 38 holds 9 rounds and is a full length grip. The slide is thicker, however than that of the G 30S. OI carry my G 38 more than the G 30 or 30S. I use the X grip devices to carry G 38 mags in my G 39.I have a 21sf as a duty weapon, and off duty I generally carry a 30sf as my personal weapon. There is a significant difference in recoil between the two. I find the 21sf to be far more accurate due to the slide length and overall weight.
