Jan 26, 2004 · The guys at the gun shop said that there were two ejector rods that were broken inside the gun and that it would be pretty much worthless because of the problem. They said that these ejector rods were a major problem on the 51's and that they stopped making them because of this and that shops stopped buying back used ones because of the problem.

I pattern tested my Ithaca 51 12ga tonight. I shot a reload of 7/8 ounce of #6 at 1200 fps. The 26" IC barrel put 134 of 218 pellets (hand counted) in a 30 inch circle at 40 yards for 61%. The 28" Mod barrel put 173 out of 218 pellets in a 30" circle at 40 yards for 79%. Very nice even patterns.
